Farmers Market
Marietta, Ohio
The River City Farmers Market takes place year round every Saturday morning at the Washington County Fairgrounds at the Rabbit and Poultry Building in Marietta, Ohio. The River City Farmers Market has over 90 vendors selling handmade, homemade and homegrown items. Mid-Ohio Valley farmers and crafters gather to sell a large variety of vegetables, produce and crafts.

Summer hours for the River City Farmers Market are:
April 1- October 31
8:00 a.m. – Noon

Winter hours for the River City Farmers Market are:
November 1 – March 31
9:00 a.m. – Noon

Farmers Market
Parkersburg, West Virginia
The Parkersburg Farmers Market opened in June of 2008 and will be back in full swing again in 2009. The Farmers Market is located at Bicentennial Park at Market and Third Streets in Parkersburg, West Virginia. The Parkersburg Farmers Market sells farm produce, value-added farm foods, farm-based crafts and other items.

2009 hours for the Parkersburg Farmers Market are:

Moonlight & Chocolate Walk
October 9, 2009
Downtown Marietta
Time: 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Admission: $15 per person; $25 per couple

Marietta’s historic shopping district brings together two great loves – chocolate and shopping – during the 2nd Annual Moonlight & Chocolate Walk. Dozens of participating restaurants and merchants will create special chocolate favors, refreshments and other items relating to the evening for ticket holders. Special incentives will also be passed on.

HARVEST DATA
The time of year and growing conditions in which they are grown will determine when Ohio’s fruits and vegetables are harvested. The main produce products grown in southeastern Ohio are strawberries, sweet corn, tomatoes, squash, and pumpkins. The strawberries are ready for harvest by late May, early June. The sweet corn and tomatoes are typically harvested in July, and the squash and pumpkins are harvested in late September through November.
